Djoyful Djuns and Djembe African Drumming 1

This class will offer an opportunity to enjoy the African Djun Djun drums, and learn sticking techniques for both the Village and Ballet style of playing. All three Djuns (Dunumba, Sangban, and Kenkeni) will be incorporated in drum arrangements that have African influences. Djembe instruction and parts will also be included. This class offers a casual fun atmosphere to learn this style of drumming. Beginners welcome.

Prerequisite: No drumming experience necessary, drums are provided.

Date: 2nd Wednesday of month, 7:15-8:45pm

Cost: $20 per participant / per class session

Parking on street. Please enter side door on Hampden Av. (ring WDC bell).

  • Preregistration is required at least 2 days in advance.

To Prepay Online:

  • Register for your WDC event to reserve your place.
  • Use the “Buy Classes” section of the WDC site to pay for your event.
  • For classes of $15 or less, there is a 2-3 class minimum for online purchases.
