Babatunde Lea, renowned African, Afro-Cuban, and Afro Brazilian percussionist, will present a 2-hour "Five Minutes to Chops" conga workshop, with a focus on exercises to produce the appropriate sounds on the conga. This course of study gives one an accelerated approach to learning congas. Learn technique and rhythms indigenous of the conga drum drumming tradition.
Continuing from his last WDC visit, Babatunde Lea, renowned African, Afro-Cuban, and Afro Brazilian percussionist, will dive deeper into his popular “Five Minutes to Chops Conga Workshop,” with a focus on exercises to produce the appropriate sounds on the conga. This course of study gives one an accelerated approach to learning congas. New and previous workshop participants will gain insight while learning technique and rhythms indigenous of conga drumming tradition.
